Prodigy Seedlings - These are seedlings from our Prodigy trees. We have been doing controlled crosses from only the very best of many thousands of trees we have planted. We crossed the best mom and dad trees and planted the resulting seeds. The best trees we are selling seedlings from and most likely the pollen came from other Prodigy trees. Husks are generally short and shells thin with nuts medium to large. Parent tree height varies from 6 to 12 feet after 10 years.

These are started late winter in our greenhouse as tublings. We grow in small but tall pots to form a good root system. Then plant out for further growth. It is extra effort on our part but worth it.
Reminder a "cultivar" is a clone of the parent tree and performs just like the parent as it is the one and same genetics. Whereas, "seedlings" are just like children, it inherits traits from both parents and what traits are expressed we learn as it matures.
We typically ship late-April to late-May weather dependent, dormant and bare root.
Seedlings are typically 12"-24" tall. We cannot ship to the west coast states. We ship to Canada for very large orders only.
Need a minimum of two trees for cross pollination.
