'Monmouth' is a high-yielding, moderately vigorous cultivar with a slightly spreading growth habit and excellent EFB tolerance. It produces round kernels, 12-14mm in diameter with an average weight of 1.19g, comprised of a respectably high 52% kernel by weight.

 Regarding pollination, 'Monmouth' has S-alleles 1 and 12 with both expressed in the pollen. Pollination partners include 'Raritan', 'Somerset', 'Gene' Photon, NITKA, The Beast and 'Grand Traverse'. It blooms in the early part of the season in New Jersey.

Nuts typically drop 1st-2nd week of September and trees can reach over 20 feet tall at 15 years. The shells are light-brown to medium-brown and the nuts fall in the husk and free from the husk, usually during the 1st half of September. Easily harvested with a harvester or removed by hand once partially dried, 'Monmouth' is protected by US Plant Patent PP32,462.

We ship mid-April to early June dormant and bare root.   We cannot ship to the west coast states.  We cannot ship to Canada for small orders.

Reminder a "cultivar" is a clone of the parent tree and performs just like the parent as it is the one and same genetics.  Whereas, "seedlings" are just like children, it inherits traits from both parents and what traits are expressed we learn as it matures.

Plants with a patent or a PPAF (Plant Patent Applied For) asexual reproduction is prohibited.
